• Nanomaterials including their interactions with biomolecules and toxicity.

• Computational chemistry methods in environmental problems, surface chemistry, and atmospheric chemistry.

Background: 

During the period of 1998 - 2008 served as the founding Director of the NSF-CREST Computational Center for Molecular Structure and Interactions (CCMSI). Since 2008, has been the Director of the NSF-CREST Interdisciplinary Center for Nanotoxicity (ICN).
